WE BELIEVE

the gospel

The gospel, or “good news,” is that Christ has suffered the curse of sin once (and for all men), thus providing deliverance (salvation) to all who receive by faith what He has done.

Romans 1:16, 17; Acts 2:37

THE BIBLE

The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. The Bible is the only inspired and infallible and authoritative written Word of God.

II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:20, 21; John 1:1-3, 14

THE CHURCH

We believe the Church is the living, spiritual body of believers of which the Lord Jesus Christ is the Head. The church functions as Christ would function in the earth, seeking to find lost souls for the purpose of bringing them to salvation. Signs and wonders, including divine healing, are part of the Church’s ministry, as they were part of the ministry of Jesus on earth.

Mark 16:17; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Colossians 1:18, 19

GOD

There is One God. He is absolute in power; infinite in wisdom; holy in His nature, attributes, and purpose – possessing total deity. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity. He hears and answers prayer and saves from sin and death all who believe according to His word. We believe in one God who manifested Himself as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit working in the lives of people today.

Genesis 1; Deuteronomy 6:4, 5; Revelations 4:11; Isaiah 45:21; Hosea 13:4; Mark 12:29, 32; I Corinthians 8:6

tHE NAME OF JESUS

The authority of God is vested in the Name of Jesus. All that the believer does is to be done in Jesus’ Name. The authority of the Godhead is vested in the Name of Jesus. We believe in Jesus Christ, who is both God and man. He is God incarnate (in flesh), the image of the invisible God. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh.

John 3:16; Colossians 2:8, 9; Philippians 2:0-10; Matthew 7:22; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Colossians 3:17

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is a gift of God given to humanity by grace and received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that all people are sinners by nature and are alienated from God until reconciled to Him by obeying the scriptures. When one accepts the message of Christ by faith, they will obey the faith. A person is saved/born again by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evidenced by obediently identifying with His death, burial and resurrection. This is accomplished by the blood of Jesus Christ through repenting of our sins, being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission [removal] of our sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost [the infilling of the Spirit of God] with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Romans 1:5; Acts 6:7; Acts 2:38, 39; I Corinthians 2:12, 13; James 2:17, 18; I Peter; Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; John 3:3, 5; Hebrews 9:22; Titus 3:5

THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS

We believe there is eternal life in a place God has prepared for those who accept His grace and receive His gift of salvation. This place is known as Heaven. There is also eternal destruction of those who reject His grace and refuse His gift. This place is known as Hell. According to the scriptures, God has given each of us a choice as to where we spend eternity.

John 3:5, 6; John 14:2, 3; Romans 1:21, 6:23

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of every believer, with the empowerment and motivation coming from the Holy Spirit, is to share the gospel wherever they go as the opportunity arises. We are called by the Lord to make disciples of all who have put their faith in Him. In addition to this, the church is called to help relieve the sufferings of those less fortunate; the poor, the infirmed, the orphaned, the widowed, etc.
